Down falls
a snowflake,
tiny speck from the sky.
Noiseless it drifts
by and by.
It has no weight,
no color
--other than every color--
it has no purpose,
no fate,
no chance of going straight.
Down falls
a snowflake,
to slowly cover the night.
White dust,
lovely dust,
stardust,
down you fall
muffled like a silenced call.
Stumble upon my shoulder,
show yourself
or don't,
highlight, you might,
a star o' the night,
or maybe you won't.
Go unnoticed,
down fall
but don't fall down.
Grow, if you may,
into the avalanche
that drives you away.
